Just want to talk with other parents of MR children. Not much support in my community.

I really would like to talk to other parents.  I am a stay at home mom with a 24 yr., old son who has severe MR, cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, non-verbal and behavior problems.  Please I don't have anyone else who understands.  I'me getting older and my mind is always on the future.  I am scared and need to know if anyone else has these emotions.

I have a 19yr. daughter who has similar disability to your son's, although she does not have cerebral palsy...we are just approaching the age for transitioning, and many of the resources that were available are no longer available because of the current economy.... When my mind wants to run away with worry and anxiety, my faith has to take over and claim the promises of God and HIS faithfulness. Matthew 6:34 tells me not to worry about tomorrow, and Philippians 4:6-8 tells me not to be anxious about anything.... HE has taken care of her needs up to this point, and I have to trust that HE will continue to meet her needs in the future. Satan wants you to feel alone and fearful...but you are not alone... May God increase your faith and give you HIS wisdom.
