Updated Resource database!
When my son was close to finishing high school, I met a parent of a teenager who was very similar to my son. As parents of children with special needs, our conversation turned toward our children and how we managed their needs. I don't remember the subject exactly, but I remember the other parent asking me if I knew about one organization that would have helped us through his earlier years that sounded like something we really could have used. I remember being frustrated and wondering why I always seemed to get more information from other parents than from any organization.
This conversation and others were the early impetus for what in 2006 became Need Project.
I dreamed that there could be a single place to find the supporting organizations families need.
For us, that goal has taken many forms over the years. But, thanks to our partnership with Disabling Barriers, that goal has become a reality. As a result, our resource database has become the most comprehensive source of information for families in the Colorado Springs area. We have added an easy-to-use search and categories to find what you need. We have also redesigned the site to make it much more user-friendly.
We have also included ways to submit reviews of these organizations and a way to submit new ones we might not be aware of.
We are excited to share this with all of you and will continue to make improvements to make it the best resource for families.
